Imagine your favorite breakfast sausage patties air fried in just 8 minutes without extra oil. It’s no longer a dream.

I’ll show you how today and an an added bonus – air fried sausage is a healthier version than pan frying.

Plus cleanup is quick and easy without grease splatters on your stove or oven. Who’s in?

If this is your first time using an air fryer, you’ll be surprised at this easy recipe.

Just preheat the air fryer, add fresh pork sausage patties, then let the air fryer do its thing for perfectly cooked air fryer breakfast sausages every time.

In my opinion it’s the best way to cook sausage patties. The only thing you need to do is add your favorite breakfast food.

FRESH OR FROZEN SAUSAGE?

The best part of this recipe – besides delicious breakfast sausage – is the versatility of it. You can cook any kind of sausage in the air fryer:

  • Raw patties (shown here with my favorite Jimmy Dean sausage)
  • Frozen precooked breakfast sausage patties (cook just 5 minutes)
  • Breakfast sausage links
  • Homemade sausage patties
  • Ground chicken sausage
  • Turkey sausage
  • Homemade breakfast sausage

You can even cook Italian Sausage with caramelized onions and bell peppers in the air fryer. It’s a simple way to a delicious dinner. Get the link for this recipe here.

WHAT DO I NEED TO MAKE AIR FRYER SAUSAGE PATTIES?

All you need for this easy breakfast favorite is:

  1. Your favorite fresh sausage patties
  2. An air fryer

DO I NEED TO ADD OIL?

Absolutely NO oil is needed for this recipe. Fresh and frozen sausage patties have enough fat so they won’t stick to the air fryer basket. This is a healthier cooking method than pan frying because the extra fat from the sausage collects in the bottom of the air fryer basket.

HOW TO MAKE AIR FRYER SAUSAGE PATTIES:

Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees for a couple of minutes while you get the sausage from the ridge and open the package.

For best results, add the raw sausage patties in a single layer to the preheated air fryer.

Cook for 5 minutes then use tongs and turn sausage patties over. Cook another 3 minutes or until they’re a nice golden brown color and the internal temperature is 160 degrees on an instant-read thermometer.

Cooking time will vary with air fryers and the exact size of your sausage patties so keep an eye on them after turning them over.

You’re looking for an internal temp of 160° on a meat themometer.

Remove from the air fryer and serve with your favorite breakfast food.

WHAT TO SERVE WITH AIR FRYER SAUSAGE PATTIES:

Overnight Egg Casserole – eggs, cheese and and all your favorite flavors in an easy, make-ahead casserole.

French Toast Casserole – next level French Toast to the next level! Brioche bread baked in an egg mixture with crumbly cinnamon-sugar nut topping and maple syrup.

Breakfast Charcuterie Board – ideal for breakfast or brunch – assembles in minutes.

Scrambled or over easy eggs

Breakfast Sandwich with toasted English muffin and sausage

HOW TO STORE LEFTOVERS:

Leftover patties can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave 30 seconds at a time.

Meal prep isn’t reserved just for dinner. These air fryer sausage patties can be air fried, cooled and stored in the freezer to reheat on busy mornings.

LOOKING FOR ANOTHER EASY AIR FRYER RECIPE?

You can never have too many air fryer recipes in your arsenal. Here are a few of my favorites:

Air Fryer French Fries – the BEST hand cut fries with fresh hand-cut potatoes air fried to crisp outside, fluffy potatoes inside (uses just one teaspoon of oil).

Crispy Air Fryer Buffalo Chicken Tenders – breaded, air fried to crisp and tossed in buffalo sauce. The ultimate, crowd-pleasing appetizer or quick and easy dinner.

I have cholesterol and eating oily at times causes me to suffer more but a big big thank to you that you shared this post as I can now eat things I rave for without oil in them.
