Dorothy was right. There’s no place like home. We spent a really great month in Florida and even though we left sunshine and almost 80° to come home to snow on the ground and more predicted for today, there is still no better place to be. There’s something about starting your day off in your own bed and if the next part of your day involves a good breakfast, well it’s that much better. Best Breakfast Pizza is part breakfast, part lunch, fast enough to enjoy even on weekday mornings and every mouthful delicious.

Have you ever eaten pizza for breakfast? I don’t mean a cold slice of yesterday’s dinner, though there is no shame in that! I’m talking about the Best Breakfast Pizza that is ridiculously easy and fast to make ~  Stonefire naan flatbread bread topped with an egg swaddled in a cheesy bed and flavored with crispy bacon ~ I know, right?

 Ingredients:

  1. Naan flatbread (mini shown; Stonefire bread used)
  2. Mozzarella cheese (1/4 – 1/2 cup at your discretion)
  3. 1 egg
  4. Hormel Real Bacon Pieces (2 tablespoons or more if you like but make sure they’re real bacon pieces)
  5. Shredded parmesan cheese (2 tablespoons or more)

The amounts listed are intentionally very loose because maybe you like more cheese ~ or bacon ~ it’s your Best Breakfast Pizza, you can have exactly as you like and you don’t need to stop at bacon, cheese and eggs. Here are some other ideas:

  • Mexican style with refried black beans, cheese, topped with an egg and a sprinkle of cilantro.
  • Mashed avocado topped with egg and cheese.
  • Hummus topped with egg and Feta cheese.

They all start with delicious Stonefire naan flatbread and if you’re serving a crowd, try the full size naan or multiples in the mini size.

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Place a mini naan flatbread on a pizza stone or baking sheet. Top the naan with mozzarella, then real bacon pieces. You can find Hormel REAL bacon pieces near the salad dressings in your local grocery store.

Crack an egg into a small bowl or cup then pour it on top aiming for the center of the naan flatbread ~ just get close ~ no worries if it’s a bit off center.Best Breakfast Pizza ~ ridiculously delicious and so fast it's ideal even for weekday mornings. Add a little salt and fresh cracked pepper and a sprinkle of shredded Parmesan cheese. Best Breakfast Pizza ~ ridiculously delicious and so fast it's ideal even for weekday mornings. Top with your favorites including an egg and bake.

Bake 8-10 minutes or until the egg is set. If you’re really short on time, pop it under the broiler so it’ll cook faster, just watch it so it doesn’t burn. You can finish it off with a little fresh chopped parsley though it isn’t necessary. This recipe easily converts to 4 servings using a full size naan flatbread and 4 eggs. Best Breakfast Pizza ~ on those days when a protein bar just isn’t enough.  Best Breakfast Pizza ~ ridiculously delicious and so fast it's ideal even for weekday mornings. 1. How true, there’s no place like home and your own bed. This recipe really looks good…great idea. Always looking for a new breakfast recipe, and I like these ideas. Avocado, egg,& cheese really sounds good. Need to get some Stonefire flatbread and I’m all set. Pinned. Thanks.

  2. Bernie – super yummy! Made these this morning and they were excellent! My only issue was my x-large eggs ran over the side of the mini naan’s just a bit. I think I’ll use large eggs next time. We both enjoyed them, even tho they weren’t as ‘pretty’ as yours! I’m becoming quite the cook with your blog recipes! Hope all is well with you.

    1. Hi Jeannie – good hearing from you! 🙂 Thank you! So glad you liked the recipe. I haven’t made it in quite a while but after I saw your comment I made it again this morning. Awww – I appreciate the kind words – we’re doing okay – hope you two are as well. Take care – 🙂
