The Super Bowl is almost here. Maybe that means you’ll be hosting a few friends and their appetites. Or maybe you got lucky and just need to bring a dish. Something other than your shining personality, though bring that too. Someone has to be the life of the party after all.

The fact is you should must bring something crowd-approved and usually that means bold spicy flavor, like this Beef Enchilada Dip.

Classic wings are probably already covered, so if you’re serious about bringing your A-Game, I highly recommend Beef Enchilada Dip  . . . or a batch of Jalapeno Poppers. Or both.

Chorizo Queso Dip ~ warm, velvety smooth Mexican cheese and chorizo dip includes tomatoes, fresh cilantro and a light squeeze of lime juice. Serve with warm tortilla chips.

In our family watching football on Thanksgiving Day is an endurance sport. That means that a ridiculous number of competitive-worthy appetizers are also needed like this Chorizo Queso Dip. Warm, creamy melted cheese, bites of spicy chorizo, tomatoes, fresh cilantro and a light squeeze of lime juice.

It makes the perfect vessel for warm, lightly salted tortilla chips. It’s not a first down. It’s a touchdown.

Layered Taco Dip ~ refried beans, spicy Greek yogurt, avocado, cheddar cheese, peppers. A Party favorite. Just add tortilla chips.

Do you have a signature dish you’re always asked to bring to parties?

My sister-in-law has had a few over the years: a Harvey Wallbanger Cake (definitely dating myself), a creamy chocolate layered dessert called Chocolate Olsen, then came her Dill Dip with fresh cut vegetables and her ridiculously delicious Cheesy Potatoes that she gave me the recipe for but mine never turns out as tasty as hers – it’s probably the love she adds to every dish.

I don’t really have a signature dish, but anytime my youngest daughter comes over she: (a) is hungry and (b) asks “do you have stuff to make The Dip?”. I know exactly which dip she’s craving.

It’s this Layered Taco Dip that made so many times I’ve lost count; the dip we devour it like wild dogs.
