GREEN BEANS RECIPE:
This is an easy green bean recipe and a great way to cook fresh beans to perfect tender-crisp every time.
It’s a basic recipe that’s more about the cooking process for an easy side dish that goes with almost anything!
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 pound fresh green beans
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
The first thing to do is rinse the green beans then trim the ends (snapping them off is a good job for the kids).
Place the beans in a large skillet then add 1/4 cup of water (the water won’t cover the beans).
Cover the skillet and bring the beans to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once the water starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium/medium-low and simmer 3 minutes stirring occasionally.
After 3 minutes remove the lid, add butter, season with salt (black pepper is optional) then cook over medium heat 1-2 minutes stirring occasionally or until the water evaporates and beans are tender-crisp.
Taste and adjust for salt then serve this tasty side dish right away.
