Easy Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Easy Chicken Lettuce Wraps ~ restaurant quality lettuce wraps at home ~ boldly flavored ground chicken, veggies nestled in lettuce leaves and topped with spicy sauce.
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound ground chicken
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 ounce water chestnuts canned
- 1/2 cup mushrooms chopped
- 2 scallions thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons cilantro finely chopped
- 1 head butter lettuce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 1 teaspoon corn starch
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon sriracha or more to taste
- 2 tablespoons water
Drizzle the olive oil into a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground chicken to the hot oil and season with salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Add the mushrooms and cook until the chicken is completely cooked through (5-7) while breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon or spatula.
Whisk the sauce ingredients in a bowl.
When the chicken is finished cooking, add the sauce, water chestnuts, scallions and cilantro. Cook over low heat for about 5 minutes while breaking up any large pieces of chicken.
Meanwhile prepare the topping.
To assemble, add a couple of heaping tablespoons of the chicken filling to the lettuce cup and some of the topping (or just soy sauce).
