Set air fryer to 250 degrees and choose your preferred doneness for the air fryer eggs.12 minutes – soft-boiled eggs (jammy yolks)14 minutes – medium eggs16 minutes – classic hard-boiled eggs While the eggs cook, fill a medium bowl with enough cold water and ice to submerge the eggs after they cook. The ice water bath stops the cooking process, prevents the eggs from overcooking and helps the peel easier.
Transfer cooked eggs to the ice bath and let them sit for 8-10 minutes to cool. Remove eggs from the ice bath, dry with a clean dish towel or paper towel. Gently tap the shell on the counter to break the shell. Roll egg lightly and peel shell starting from the wider end. Rinse again under the faucet to remove any remaining little flecks of eggshell.
AIR FRYER TEMPERATURE TIP:
TIPS:
Older eggs peel easier than fresh ones. Buy eggs about a week before you're planning to use them. This is especially true is you're buying them from a farm stand where eggs are at their peak freshness.
Different air fryer wattage levels can affect cooking times. You may need to adjust cook time for your air fryer. My Ninja 4-quart (1550 watt) cooks perfectly at the times listed.
Don’t skip the ice bath. It immediately stops the cooking process and prevents eggs from overcooking (think rubbery whites or green, chalky yolks!). The ice bath also makes the eggs much easier to peel.
