Easy Slow Cooker Oatmeal
Creamiest oatmeal made completely in the slow cooker. Use old-fashioned (rolled) or steel-cut oats. For oatmeal lovers, this is the warm breakfast you want to wake up to all cold weather season long. Top with your favorite fruit or a handful of nuts.

- 2 cups oats old fashioned or steel cut
- 4 cups water
- 3 cups milk Fairlife used - extra protein!
- 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup brown sugar or to taste
- 2 tablespoons good quality maple syrup or add 2 extra tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Spray the bottom of the slow cooker and up the sides with cooking spray (or brush with vegetable oil).
Add oats, milk, water, maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt and vanilla. Give it a good stir.
Cover and cook on LOW 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Cooking time will vary with slow cookers. You know yours – check the oatmeal near end of cooking and adjust cook time accordingly.

- Steel cut oats will require a little more cooking time.
- Don't use instant oats. They may overcook and get mushy. Stick with old-fashioned oats (also called rolled oats) or steel-cut oats for best results!
