Equipment

  • hand mixer

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1-2 cloves garlic pressed or minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice or to taste
  • zest from half of one lemon
  • 3 ounces feta cheese excess moisture removed and crumbled
  • fresh cracked black pepper to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped nuts, olives, tomato, dill,

Instructions

  • To a medium bowl add cream cheese, yogurt, olive oil, garlic (minced or use garlic press), chopped dill, lemon juice and zest.
  • Using a hand mixer on  high, whip until smooth then stir in feta cheese by hand.

TIPS:

  • I recommend buying a block of feta and crumble it yourself. Block feta is usually higher in quality and the taste is better.
  • Start with 1 or 2 garlic cloves mincing or using a garlic press then add more garlic slowly until you reach the garlic flavor you're looking for.
  • Transfer to a shallow bowl or serving plate, drizzle a little olive oil and (optional) garnish with your favorites. Serve right away or chilled with naan or pita, baguette, pita chips, fresh vegetables or pretzels.
