Homemade Cranberry Sauce

Quick and easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce. Loaded with fresh cranberries and citrus flavor. One thousand times better than the canned stuff.

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces fresh cranberries
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 small Granny Smith apple peeled, cored, finely chopped
  • 2 oranges juice and zest
  • 1/4 cup pistachios finely chopped
  • 3/4 cup water

Instructions

  • Rinse the cranberries, then add them to a saucepan with the brown and white sugar, cinnamon and water. 
  • Over medium heat, mixture to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer 7-10 minutes or until the skins burst then fold in the diced apple, orange zest and juice and pistachios stirring to combine. The cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
