- 12 ounces fresh cranberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 small Granny Smith apple peeled, cored, finely chopped
- 2 oranges juice and zest
- 1/4 cup pistachios finely chopped
- 3/4 cup water
Rinse the cranberries, then add them to a saucepan with the brown and white sugar, cinnamon and water.
Over medium heat, mixture to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer 7-10 minutes or until the skins burst then fold in the diced apple, orange zest and juice and pistachios stirring to combine. The cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
