Hot Honey Butter Old Bay Shrimp

15 minute one pan spicy shrimp seasoned with Old Bay and drizzled with hot honey. Serve it up as an appetizer or add a side for a main dish.

Ingredients

THE SHRIMP:

  • 1 pound large raw shrimp peeled and deveined (tails on OR off)
  • 1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 whole lemon juice/zest from half; slice other half in wedges for serving
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley optional garnish

THE HOT HONEY:

  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons Frank's buffalo wine sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes or more to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lemon Pepper seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Pat the shrimp dry using paper towels then add to a medium bowl and toss with Old Bay seasoning.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add shrimp and cook 1 minute per side.
  • Reduce heat to low and add butter and garlic. Cook 1 minute or until the shrimp is just cooked through then stir in lemon juice and zest.
  • ​Move the shrimp to the parameter of the skillet then add hot honey ingredients to the skillet.
  • Bring to a soft boil for 1 minute then taste and adjust for spice level.
  • Turn shrimp in the sauce then remove from the skillet to a plate or bowl.
  • Drizzle hot honey over the shrimp along with a light sprinkle of sea salt and serve the extra sauce on the side. Serve right away as an appetizer with some crusty bread or add side dish for a complete meal.
