Equipment

  • 9 x 13 baking dish
  • parchment paper line baking dish
  • aluminum foil

Ingredients

SLIDERS:

  • 12 count package slider buns any style/flavor
  • 1 pound very thinly sliced deli ham
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced cheese cheddar used - swap any melty cheese

HONEY MUSTARD BUTTER GLAZE:

  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard or more to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 teaspoons hot honey can swap regular honey
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 2 tablespoons dried minced onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • optional: flaky sea salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven 350 degrees. Line a 9 x 13 baking dish with parchment paper so there’s overhang on two of the sides.
  • Make the butter sauce: In a small microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in Dijon, Worcestershire, hot honey, poppy seeds and dried minced onion. Set aside.
  • Assemble the sliders: Slice the slider buns horizontally to separate the tops and bottoms.
  • Place the bottom half of the rolls into the prepared baking dish. Layer half of the cheddar cheese, trimming as needed to fully cover the rolls. Add the ham evenly over the cheese. Top with another layer of cheese slices. Place the top buns over the cheese layer.
  • Use a pastry brush to brush the honey mustard butter mixture evenly over the top and sides of the rolls.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for 5 more minutes or until the tops are lightly browned and the cheese is melty.
  • Use the parchment paper to lift the sliders from the baking dish on to a cutting board. Optional sprinkle with flaky sea salt. Slice with a sharp knife into individual sandwiches. Serve warm.

Notes

Swap regular honey for hot honey.
Use any kind of melty cheese.
Great recipe for any leftover holiday ham!
