Skillet Berry Crisp - GRILL or BAKE!
Best of summer berries topped with buttery brown sugar-oat topping that you can cook on your GRILL or BAKE in the oven.

Skillet OR 8x8 Baking Dish:
- 1/2 tablespoon butter to grease the skillet or baking dish
The Berries:
- 5 to 5 1/2 cups fresh mixed berries any combination strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries
- 2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
The Brown Sugar-Oat Topping:
- 4 tablespoons butter melted
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup old fashioned oats (not quick cooking)
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar packed
GRILLING INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the grill to medium heat (about 350°) then butter the skillet and set it aside.
Slice strawberries then add all berries to a medium size bowl.
Sprinkle the sugar, lemon juice and corn starch over the berries and gently combine then transfer the fruit to the prepared skillet.
Melt the butter in a medium size microwave safe bowl then add the flour, oats, sugar, butter, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. The mixture should be crumbly.
Using your hands sprinkle the topping over the berries.
Cover the skillet with aluminum foil then grill 15 minutes. Remove the foil and continue grilling 7-10 more minutes or until the berry juices are bubbling and the topping is lightly browned.
Remove from the grill and cool 10 minutes. Serve plain or with ice cream.
OVEN BAKING INSTRUCTIONS:
Preheat the oven to 350° then butter an 8 x 8 baking dish and set it aside.
Slice the strawberries then add all the berries to a medium size bowl.
Sprinkle on the sugar, lemon juice and corn starch over the berries and gently combine then transfer the fruit to the prepared baking dish.
Melt the butter in a medium size microwave safe bowl then add the flour, oats, sugar, butter, cinnamon and a pinch of salt. The mixture should be crumbly.
Using your hands, sprinkle the topping over the berries.
Bake the crisp 30-35 minutes or until the berry juices are bubbling on the edges and the topping is lightly browned.
Remove from the oven, cool 10 minutes then serve plain or with ice cream.
