Kid Friendly Charcuterie Board – easy, hassle-free snack, lunch or dinner – this build your own kids’ charcuterie is ideal even for the pickiest eaters. Fill it with all their favorite finger foods that’ll have them coming back for more.
This post really doesn’t require a recipe at all. In fact – my favorite thing about it is that the kids can design and build it themselves!
Why this recipe works:
Kids Charcuterie Board is simple, no cook, with finger foods even your pickiest eaters will devour.
Assembles in minutes – customize to make it your own – even breakfast!
Great for backyard barbecues, pool parties, easy lunches, movie night or an after school snack.
Ingredients for a Kid Friendly Charcuterie Board:
Below are simply suggestions. Use any fun foods your kids like that can be enjoyed at room temperature.
- Cheeses: colby jack, cheddar cheese cubes, gouda cheese, string cheese
- Individual servings: flavored yogurt pouches, apple sauce packets, mini muffins
- Dips: ranch, hummus, salsa
- Mini sandwiches: peanut butter and jelly sandwiches cut in quarters
- Fresh fruit: strawberries, watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, orange sections, apple slices
- Vegetables: baby carrots, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, sliced bell peppers
- Crunchy: animal crackers, goldfish, Cheese-its, Ritz crackers, pretzels, pita chips, popcorn
- Meats: sliced deli meats like rolled ham, salami or turkey
- Sweets: candy corn (think fall), Hershey kisses or other bite size candies
- Cooked snacks: chicken nuggets, pizza rolls
How to assemble a Kid Friendly Charcuterie Board:
Step 1:
Get a tray or large board (multiple smaller boards will work too). Look around the house for what you already have before buying new.
Step 2:
Gather the ingredients for your board. Wash (if needed), cut and prep the ingredients.
Step 3
Add small bowls to the tray for dips and items that won’t stay contained. Ranch dressing is always a hit or this easy, healthy 3-ingredient fruit dip.
Step 4:
Add fresh fruits and vegetables. Baby carrots and sliced mini cucumbers are great for little ones.
Step 5:
Include one or two cheeses and meats you know the kids enjoy. Cheese sticks are a good option that can be cut in half or added whole to the board.
Step 6:
Be sure to include your kids’ favorite sweet treats then serve and enjoy!
When to serve a Kids Charcuterie Board:
There’s really no wrong time but in addition to the ones I mentioned above – backyard barbecues, pool parties, easy lunches or movie night – here are a few other ideas:
- Holiday party
- Quick summertime lunch
- After school snack
- Birthday party
- Easy dinner
Fill the board with foods you already know the kids like – and – new foods you want to introduce them to (keeping food allergies in mind).
Sometimes simple ideas are the best ideas. Enjoy!
