Burger Sauce – creamy 5 minute sweet-tangy sauce from mayonnaise, dill pickle relish and a few simple ingredients that bring big flavor and take your burgers to the next level.

The weather is finally warming up here in Michigan and if you’re like me and burgering this weekend – elevate your burger game with my easy, homemade Burger Sauce.
It’s my take on the ‘special sauce’ used on Big Macs, In-and-Out burgers and a lot of local restaurants and bars.
A little sweet, a little tang – it whips up in 5 minutes and will make your already delicious burgers irresistible.

What I love about this sauce:
Make it in 5 minutes – store in the fridge up to a week.
Mayo-based + a few pantry ingredients you probably already have on hand.
Easy to customize to your taste.
Seriously so flippin’ good.
Ingredients needed to make this Burger Sauce:
- mayonnaise
- ketchup
- yellow mustard (ballpark style)
- dill pickle relish
- apple cider vinegar
- Dry spices: garlic powder, paprika, salt and black pepper
How to make Burger Sauce:
To a small bowl or jar add all ingredients: mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, salt and black pepper.

What to eat with this Burger Sauce:

One of the things I like most about this sauce is how versatile it is. Besides burgers, here are a few other ideas to use it:
- Grilled Cheeseburgers
- Burger Bowls
- Grilled Chicken Burgers
- Sandwiches and wraps
- Dip for French Fries, chicken tenders or chicken wings
Subs and variations:
- Swap sweet pickle relish for the dill relish for a little sweeter taste.
- Add extra pickle relish – or pickle brine (juice) for a tangier pickle-forward taste.
- Use dijon mustard instead of yellow mustard for a sharper flavor.
- Add a kick to the sauce with a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash or two of hot sauce.
Can I make Burger Sauce ahead of time?
Yes – this sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge up to a week in an airtight container or mason jar.
