It’s my take on the ‘special sauce’ used on Big Macs, In-and-Out burgers and a lot of local restaurants and bars.

A little sweet, a little tang – it whips up in 5 minutes and will make your already delicious burgers irresistible.

One of the things I like most about this sauce is how versatile it is. Besides burgers, here are a few other ideas to use it:

Subs and variations:

  • Swap sweet pickle relish for the dill relish for a little sweeter taste.
  • Add extra pickle relishor pickle brine (juice) for a tangier pickle-forward taste.
  • Use dijon mustard instead of yellow mustard for a sharper flavor.
  • Add a kick to the sauce with a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash or two of hot sauce.

Can I make Burger Sauce ahead of time?

Yes – this sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge up to a week in an airtight container or mason jar.
