Friends, here in Michigan it’s fall which means cider mill season!

This apple cider Bourbon Slush a delicious blend of smooth smoky bourbon, frozen tangy-sweet apple cider, a splash of maple syrup, a squeeze of lemon juice and a pinch of cinnamon.

The result is a fun, frozen cocktail perfect for fall parties, holidays or cozy evenings at home.

This Apple Cider Slushie will have even loyal wine drinkers (like me!) at the first sip.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS RECIPE:

  • Apple Cider Bourbon Slushies are easy, prep ahead and perfect for all fall gatherings.
  • It’s a taste of fall – wherever you are!
  • Can be doubled – or tripled – for a crowd.
  • It’s absolutely delicious!

HOT TIPS AND SUBSTITUTIONS:

  • There are only a few ingredients so use good quality bourbon and fresh apple cider.
  • If there’s no time to freeze the cubes, combine the ingredients and serve chilled instead.
  • My ice cube tray makes large cubes. Any size will work – as long as you freeze 2 1/4 cups.
  • I used my Ninja Personal Blender, but a full size blender can be used as well.
  • Freeze apple cider cubes up to one week ahead of time.
  • How much bourbon you add is up to you – add or reduce to your own taste.

WHAT INGREDIENTS ARE IN AN APPLE CIDER BOURBON SLUSH?

You’ll also need:

  • ice cube trays
  • high-powered blender

Optional Garnishes:

  • cinnamon stick
  • apple slices
  • pomegranate seeds
  • fresh mint leaves
  • you could even add a splash of vanilla before blending!

HOW TO MAKE AN APPLE CIDER BOURBON SLUSH:

Prep. Pour apple cider into ice cube trays. Freeze 4-6 hours or overnight (or up to 1 week ahead)

Mixing the cocktail.  Add apple cider ice cubes to a blender along with the remaining ingredients.

Puree to a slushie consistency.

Pour ​into glasses.

Garnish​ and serve right away.
