What you’ll need for 2-ingredient bagels:
- 1 cup self rising flour
- 1 cup thick Greek yogurt or Cottage Cheese
- Optional: 1 egg for egg wash)
- Favorite bagel toppings – plain bagels are great too
How to Make Air Fryer Bagels:
1. Make the Dough
If you’re using Greek yogurt, add to a large mixing bowl. If you’re using cottage cheese, blend in a food processor, blender or use immersion blender pulsing until smooth then add to the bowl.
Add self-rising flour then stir until a shaggy dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour (about a tablespoon at a time). It should be slightly tacky but not so that it leaves dough on your hands.

🔥 Expert Tip: you’re using cottage cheese, I recommend blending it until smooth before adding it to flour using an immersion blender, standard blender or food processor.
2. Shape the Bagels
Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead it several times until the surface is smooth and you can form a ball. Section the dough into 3-4 approximately equal pieces (depending upon the size of bagel you prefer).

Roll each section into thick ropes then form a circle and pinch the ends together to form the bagel.

3. Air Frying:
Preheat the air fryer to 350° for 3 minutes and lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
Whisk egg in a small bowl then brush the top and sides of each bagel with the egg wash. Sprinkle with your favorite bagel toppings.

Transfer to the air fryer and cook 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Cooking time will vary with air fryers and the size of the bagels. There’s no need to flip the bagel over during the cooking process.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Bagels
- Leave a little space between the bagels so they’re not overcrowded. They’ll rise and spread.
- Brush with egg or milk before adding toppings.
- Depending upon the size of your air fryer, you may need to work in batches.
- No need to flip the bagels over during cooking.
- Cool bagels completely before slicing.
- Use this same dough to make air fryer pizza bagels – just slice, top, and broil!
