Hot Honey Pimento Cheese Dip – 5 minute NO COOK creamy pimento cheese dip with hot honey drizzle. Easy make ahead appetizer!

Southern ladies know all about this classic southern spread (known as the caviar of the south) and after going to Savannah recently, I do too!
My version is a modern twist on old-fashioned pimento cheese dip with the addition of spicy-sweet hot honey that takes it to the next level.
It’s a delicious make-ahead, no cook appetizer perfect backyard barbecues, pot lucks and game day that whips up in about 5 minutes.
Ingredients in Hot Honey Pimento Cheese Dip:
See complete list of ingredients with amounts in the recipe card:
- Cream cheese: – full fat recommended – softened to room temperature
- Mayonnaise: Hellman’s LINK is my preferred but use what you like best
- Cheddar cheese: sharp or extra-sharp cheddar cheese – recommend grating the cheese yourself
- Seasoning: hot honey LINK and a few dry pantry spices like garlic powder, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper
- Worcestershire sauce: enhances flavor
- Pimentos: buy them already diced in a jar (usually in the pickle aisle). Drain well before adding to dip.
What is pimento cheese?
Pimento cheese is a creamy blender of grated cheddar cheese, mayonnaise and diced pimento peppers. It’s a trendy dish in the south – sometimes called the caviar of the south or southern pate.
What are pimento peppers?
Pimentos or cherry peppers are small mild red peppers (not spicy at all). They’re the little peppers you sometimes see stuffed in green olives.
How to make Hot Honey Pimento Cheese Dip:
Shred cheese on a box grater then add to a large mixing bowl along with softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and hot honey.
Blend using a hand mixer or stand mixer until smooth (I don’t recommend using a food processor).
Stir in drained pimentos then taste and adjust salt and pepper.
Transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge at least 15 minutes (up to overnight) before serving.
Prior to serving, remove from the fridge and bring to room temp so it’ll spread easier then give it another drizzle of hot honey and serve with crackers, tortilla chips and fresh cut vegetables.
Why I love this recipe:
- It was a great discovery while travelling and it’s been on repeat at my house ever since!
- Simple ingredients from the grocery store.
- Easy make-ahead appetizer – great addition to potlucks, parties and game day.
- It’s my modern twist and spicy version of a southern staple.
Tips for the best Pimento Cheese Dip:
Grate your own cheese instead of buying pre-shredded cheese. The pre-shredded stuff tends to be a little stiff and won’t give you the same creaminess.
Bring cream cheese to room temp before blending so your dip isn’t lumpy.
Refrigerate at least 15 minutes (up to overnight) so the flavors come together.
Optional add-ins:
- onion powder
- mild pickled jalapeños
- white cheddar cheese
Serving suggestions:
- Smear or scoop with Ritz crackers, tortilla chips, potato chips or fresh celery sticks, carrots or sliced cucumber.
- Use as a sandwich spread on slices of white bread for a grilled cheese sandwich.
