Sea Breeze Cocktail – grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and vodka with a squeeze of fresh lime juice. Serve over ice for the ultimate summer cocktail that tastes like vacation in a glass!
I didn’t invent this recipe – apparently it’s been around awhile but I tasted it for the first time when I was out with friends recently and flipped for it!
Grapefruit juice, cranberry juice, Vodka and a squeeze of fresh lime juice … a little tangy, lightly sweet, with just enough alcohol to be dangerous. It felt like vacation.
What do I need to make a Sea Breeze?
A Sea Breeze is a light, refreshing cocktail made with just 4 ingredients:
- Grapefruit juice
- Cranberry juice
- Vodka
- Lime
Why I love this recipe:
It practically begs to be consumed during warm, summer months.
It’s ridiculously easy to make from just 4 ingredients.
Feeling ambitious? Squeeze your own grapefruit juice or buy my favorite brand.
What’s the difference between a Sea Breeze and a Bay Breeze?
Both cocktails call for vodka and cranberry juice but they divide from there:
-
Sea Breeze: cranberry juice + grapefruit juice for a tart, crisp flavor, beach vacay vibe.
-
Bay Breeze: cranberry juice + pineapple juice is sweeter and more tropical, tiki bar vibe.
I like mine heavier on the grapefruit juice and less cranberry. It creates the ideal balance of tangy and sweet. Adjust the recipe to your own taste.
How to make a Sea Breeze cocktail:
To make this cocktail, fill two 8 ounce glasses with ice cubes halfway up. Divide the grapefruit juice, cranberry juice and vodka between the glasses then stir and garnish with a lime slice.
You can also make a batch in a pitcher then refrigerate but be sure to wait to add ice until it’s time to serve.

Is the Sea Breeze low calorie?
Relatively speaking – yes – typically coming in at about 150 calories per serving. You can definitely use a light cranberry juice or fresh squeezed grapefruit juice.
Compare that to a frozen margarita (300+ calories) or piña colada (500+ calories).
