INGREDIENTS YOU NEED TO MAKE SLOW COOKER SHREDDED BUFFALO CHICKEN:
This shredded buffalo chicken recipe comes together with simple ingredients you can grab at the grocery store:
- boneless skinless chicken breast, chicken thighs or a combination
- Frank’s Buffalo Wing Sauce
- butter
- honey
- 1 package Hidden Valley dry ranch seasoning mix
- This is my go-to buffalo sauce but by all means use whatever kind you like best.
HOW TO MAKE SLOW COOKER SHREDDED BUFFALO CHICKEN RECIPE:
Place raw chicken in slow cooker. Season with salt and black pepper. Note: I chose thighs but if you prefer use chicken breasts or a combination.
Whisk buffalo sauce and ranch dressing mix together in a large measuring cup then pour over the top of the chicken.
Turn chicken to coat both sides then dot with pats of butter.
Cover and cook on HIGH 2-3 hours or LOW 4-5 hours or until the chicken is fork tender (but not mushy). Cooking time will vary with the size of chicken pieces.
Remove cooked chicken from the crockpot and shred using 2 forks – or – in the food processor using the ‘dough’ attachment. Pulse several times to the desired consistency then return shredded chicken to the slow cooker. Stir until well combined.
